A package to easily make use of Simple Icons in your Laravel Blade views.

For a full list of available icons see the SVG directory.

Requirements

  • PHP 7.4 or higher
  • Laravel 8.0 or higher

Installation

You can install the package via composer:

composer require ublabs/blade-simple-icons

Usage

Icons can be used as self-closing Blade components which will be compiled to SVG icons:

<x-simpleicon-laravel />

You can also pass classes to your icon components:

<x-simpleicon-laravel class="w-6 h-6 text-red-500"/>

And even use inline styles:

<x-simpleicon-laravel style="color: #FF2D20"/>

Raw SVG Icons

If you want to use the raw SVG icons as assets, you can publish them using:

php artisan vendor:publish --tag=blade-simple-icons --force

Then use them in your views like:

<img src="{{ asset('vendor/blade-simple-icons/laravel.svg') }}" width="10" height="10"/>

Blade Icons

Blade Simple Icons uses Blade Icons under the hood. Please refer to the Blade Icons readme for additional functionality.

  • Replace bash script with blade-icons generator and update to 5.6.0 simple icons

    Replace bash script with blade-icons generator and update to 5.6.0 simple icons

    This PR replaces the bash script with the icon pack generator added to blade-icons. It also adds the upstream repo as a git submodule currently checked out on the v5.6.0 tag.

    I also updated the change log to match current releases - but not this one as I was unsure when a new tag would be made and published.

  • Update composer requirements

    Update composer requirements

    This changes the composer requirements to match those in: https://github.com/blade-ui-kit/blade-icons-template/blob/main/composer.json

    It fixes an error I get on the current main branch, when I run this command in my laravel (^9.11) project:

    $ composer require ublabs/blade-simple-icons:*
    [...]
    Your requirements could not be resolved to an installable set of packages.

      Problem 1
        - ublabs/blade-simple-icons[dev-feature/update-icons, dev-main, 0.1.0, ..., 0.37.0] require illuminate/contracts ^8.0 -> found illuminate/contracts[v8.0.0, ..., 8.x-dev] but these were not loaded, likely because it conflicts with another require.
        - Root composer.json requires ublabs/blade-simple-icons * -> satisfiable by ublabs/blade-simple-icons[dev-feature/update-icons, dev-main, 0.1.0, ..., 0.37.0].

    Installation failed, reverting ./composer.json and ./composer.lock to their original content.
