Powered By WordPress

About 25% of the web is powered by WordPress. A big majority of these sites are private blogs but also heavy-weights such as Sony Mobile or Mercedes Benz use WordPress.

Nonetheless, there are voices claiming that WordPress would not be suitable for professional websites beyond blogs. Here is a growing collection of currently 58 high-quality sites to counter this impression.

While there are several collections, this list is unique in several ways:

• Only websites that are not in the category news and blogs are being considered (there are excellent websites in both these categories, but this list wants to showcase that WordPress can be used for everything else as well)
• Only websites in the TOP1M ranking of Alexa are included
• All websites are ordered by ranking
• Websites are constantly checked whether they actually still use WordPress (Last full and scripted check: 16/09/14)

The notion is Name (Alexa Ranking). (N/A, Parent's Ranking) is used for Alexa Ranking when the WordPress instance is in a subdirectory or subdomain and Alexa outputs the parent's ranking. Parent ranking must be in the global TOP 1 million.
